The Nighttime Explorer tells the story of a curious boy named Alex. With the help of the magical fireflies known as Forest Guardians, Alex explores the forest in search of solving a mystery. The story emphasizes curiosity and the magical wonders of the natural world at night.

The idea for the cover was to highlight Alex, the magical fireflies and the moon — a big part of the mystery.
As the story takes place at night, dark colors were used to set the scene and let the key elements shine.
